Before moving to Houston in 2013, I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I knew I did not want to stay in San Antonio and Houston’s size, energy, and diversity attracted me. It was just close enough to visit my family whenever I missed home. Even though I fell in love with Houston, I gained an appreciation for San Antonio’s historical, cultural, and family-oriented charm.
Growing up I was hugely influenced by my father’s no excuses mindset. It taught me that most times the biggest obstacle is yourself, and there’s no excuse as to why you can’t be successful if you work hard and stay focused on your goals. With his constant support, reassurance, and honesty, I’ve gained confidence and the belief that I can do anything I set my mind to.
I graduated from the University of Houston with my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Throughout my time there I was in the American marketing association and tried to attend as many Football games as I could. Go Coogs!
