I was born and raised in Oklahoma City! I went to Oklahoma State University (GO POKES!!!!) for college and graduated with a degree in Business Marketing and a minor in International Business. I was a part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and loved every second of it. After college I really did not want to move back to Oklahoma City, my plan was actually to move to Dallas… thank goodness things didn’t work out with that, and I ended up back in Oklahoma. I absolutely love it here. A few things that are my favorite things about Oklahoma are:
- The Sunrises & Sunsets: I never miss an opportunity to take pictures of the beautiful Oklahoma sky, they are second to none
- OKC Thunder! Go Thunder!
- The fact that it is considered to be one of the most geographically diverse state in the US
- The people are soooooo amazing
Both of my parents influenced me growing up. Always there for me no matter what. My dad – TONY! My best friend and the smartest man I know. Adversity is always going to be something that we encounter in our lifetime, so don’t be afraid to push thru it. It only makes you stronger. He taught me that when you become complacent, life gets boring… don’t be afraid of change! And then there is my mom – NANCY! What an amazing woman. Very well-rounded, good head on her shoulders, solid values. But also – it’s okay to be silly! Silliness is good for the soul. I grew up very fortunate. The sacrifices my parents have made for me in order for me to be where I am today… All I can say is I am extremely blessed.
Greatest lessons I learned from my childhood:
- Be nice to yourself and be nice to others. Treat others how you would want to be treated – The Golden Rule
- Have good manners: the two best manners for me are 1. Always look people in the eye when they are talking to you. 2. Always say “please” and “thank you”
- Live life to the fullest – life is short, cherish every moment
- Life is better with a glass-half-full mentality
- It is okay to cry
