Mikah Watkins

Director of Recruiting - Tulsa, OK.

I grew up in Dallas, TX. Obviously, Dallas is a large city but I grew up in a suburb called Carrollton.

I went to the University of Oklahoma and got my journalism degree.

Travel, travel, and more travel!  I want my family to have amazing experiences through travel whether in US or abroad!  Be on a game show—Ellen’s Game of Games, Wheel of Fortune or Family Feud!  I am a huge Food Network fan and would love to be a guest on Pioneer Woman!

I love working out, I love to run, and I love spending time with my family and my kids and watching them play sports and do all the things they love to do.

I’ve always been involved in working out because we owned a training studio so, by default, I had to. But I grew to really love it. It’s my outlet. Now we have a home gym and so I work out at home.

Running just came from a challenge my husband signed me up for in 2019. On January 1st of that year, he said we were going to run a half marathon. I was like, OK! So, he signed me up and I had to start training for it. I actually ended up loving it. I’ve done three, half marathons.

">
What drove me as a kid is just to work hard. If you want something, work really hard for it, figure out how to be good at it, and don’t be afraid if it’s going to require a lot of work. So, I think that’s probably what I want for my kids. I tell them, “You can do anything but you’re going to have to work really hard for it”. So, I think that’s probably what I would want to leave behind.

I think the way we work as a group here can inspire people. And when we serve together, we succeed together. I just think they all work together.

">
I have run 3, half marathons and have zero plans to run a full marathon!  I always like to have at least one thing to be training for at a time so I can give 100% and commit to the process.  I truly enjoy working out!  It is my outlet and feel accomplished once I’m done.

After college, I was looking for the typical, “I want to work with people” job. I had moved to Tulsa right after I got married and didn’t have any clue as to what companies were in Tulsa. I had never even been there before. So, I was kind of starting fresh. I knew my husband and that’s about it.

I interviewed for a lot of marketing roles, which, I was a journalism major so it really didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but I had always been in the service industry whether at a golf course or a restaurant.

Just working with people was always really exciting for me. I feel like I always wanted to give the best experience to people and then, when I came to Inceed, it just kind of matched up. I just had a feeling as soon as I left the first interview. I called my dad and was like, “I want to work there. I don’t know really what it is, but I want to work there with those people, and I feel like I’ll figure it out”.

I think it took a month of recruiting to really understand like, OK, this this can be fun. This can be a challenge. This is something that can be a challenge but that I can be good at too.
