I grew up in a small town in North Carolina called Goldsboro. It’s about an hour east of Raleigh, and there really isn’t much to do there. I passed the time playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Growing up, I spent a lot of time with family and was certainly influenced heavily by them. My parents and their families were very close, and so I was very fortunate to spend a great deal of time learning and growing with my family.
I went to Liberty University and graduated with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies, which is a fancy way to say I couldn’t decide on one particular field, so I grouped a couple together. I was involved in student leadership and worked with intramural sports as a referee/umpire. Some of my fondest memories include umpiring my friends’ softball games at the mountain fields.
