People and relationships are super important inside and outside of work. I think that the better relationship and the better people skills you have, you’re a more successful and well-rounded person. Keeping up with those relationships is what keeps me going. I think that people are a huge part of our day-to-day dealings, and being a genuine person that people enjoy talking to is important.
Especially for me, whenever I’m talking to someone about payroll, I don’t usually hear from people if their payroll is correct. I hear from them whenever they are upset. Having a good relationship, being able to converse with the individual, and assuring them that we’re going to do everything we can to get you taken care of. That’s our end goal. That is a big part of my job, and it’s something that I want to be as good as possible. I strive to be better at it every day.
