I grew up right outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. My hometown was a family-friendly suburb located less than 3 hours from the closest beach and mountain towns. My parents influenced me the most growing up because they engrained the values of family and hard work in me. One of the greatest lessons I learned from my childhood was ‘treat people the way you want to be treated’, and another one was that “patience is a virtue.” Though I used to roll my eyes when I would hear these phrases, I find myself appreciating these lessons more and more as life has gone on.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte in 2013. I was involved in a sorority for a period of time. I studied Accounting and Finance, and I particularly loved the accounting courses I took, so I spent a large portion of my days in the library doing practice problems!
